I get the same thing, Louise, unless I only select a few applications (less
than a dozen).  Support just blew smoke up my *** by telling me that the
issue was a momentary one regarding the restart of a web server.  As if that
would cause the error to occur over a period of days.

I can get patches OK via the old "Heritage" system, what I can't seem to do
is get EPD to save a favorites list.  It tells me repeatedly there is an
application error and to log in again.
