Dear listers, I have a very weird situation with Oracle 10gR2 and Business Objects 6.5.1 and I am trying to find my way out of this conundrum.
We are in the process of upgrading our current AR Server 6.3.0 Patch 20 to AR Server 7.0.1 Patch 3. As part of this upgrade, we are moving our Oracle DB from 9.2.x to 10gR2. However, as per Business Objects 6.5.1 is not supported on Oracle 10gR2, but we don't have enough time to upgrade Business Objects to the next version that supports 10g. Our options are for us to move back the Oracle to 9.2.x, so that current version of Business Objects can be supported, since we have a ton of reports that would be impacted. However, from a performance standpoint, I believe that 10g is much better for large data throughput, which we will have as part of the CMDB being populated from various Discovery Sources. I was wondering if any of you have been in this type of situation and been able to come up with a solution where you were able to stay with the Oracle 10g but still support Business Objects 6.5.1? Any help or insight is really appreciated. Thanks in advance.
