Hi,
Thanks to all for your reply. We are on Unix box. Which approach will be the better to set TWO_TASK value ? 1) by using export TWO_TASK. 2) Add Oracle-Two-Task value in ar.conf file of remedy. Will it be same for both architecture [ARS and DB on single machine], [ARS and DB on different machine] ? One more query. Can we set the Oracle-Two-Task value fist in ar.conf before installing Oracle 10g without any problem ? That depends on your ARS Server platform. If you are on UNIX, modify the .profile of the user that runs the AR System services to point to the 9 libraries and not 10 after you install your 9 client. This would mean you would need to change the ORACLE_HOME settings essentially. Ask your DBA about any other variables that you might need, to connect 9 clients to the 10 server. I think your TWO_TASK and ORACLE_SID should be the same irrespective so no changes may be required for these two variables. I am not sure what you do on Windows, but I guess it might have to modify the PATH in the environment to point to the right Oracle client. Can you specify some exact steps? We have both kind of environment ARS and DB on same server, ARS and DB on different server. Do we require any cursor_sharing settings as FALSE also.
