David,

BMC offers a web based course ITSM 7.x preparing to Migrate. The course is
only $200. I would suggest you take a look at that as well. It will
definitely be a new install or migration. I have been involved in several
implementations. Each has been very interesting and challenging.

We are starting a project to implement ITSM 7.0. The first step is to put a
project together and as part of this process the Project manager would like to
visit/discuss the process with others that have completed a successful
implementation of ITSM 7.0.

Our current system is a Sun Server running ARSystem 7.00.01 and ITSM 6.0
running against an Linux Oracle 9.2 server. We will be migrating to Windows
Servers and MSSQL 2005.

We are not as concerned with the hardware migration as the steps to ensure a
successful implementation of ITSM 7.0.

We would like to talk to anyone who would be willing to share their experiences
with our project manager.

This is an effort to gain a better understanding of the steps involved to have
a successful implementation. Some of the items we would like to discuss are:

Should we try an upgrade or treat this like a new product?

Should we bring all modules up at the same time or use a phased implementation
of Asset, Change, Service Desk, SLM and Flashboards?

What training should we have for the programmers and users?

What is the role of consultants (if any) in this endeavor?

If you have ITSM 7.0 running in production and you have some free time to
discuss the your experience please contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
