With no AREA LDAP configuration in place I believe it uses the credentials of the person attempting to logon. I am doing the same thing, ARDBC LDAP to use a vendor form to collect data from Active Directory and no AREA LDAP for authentication and we do NOT allow anonymous queries of Active Directory and do not have a service account running the AR Server so that really only leaves you the one choice of using the logon credentials.

Just the Cross Reference Blank Passwords checked in the admin tool. Does that mean I am querying anonymously? I DO have the ARDBC LDAP config form populated. That is so I can use a Vendor form against the AD but that was put in place long after we started using blank password checks. Thanks, John J. ARS 6.3 MS SQL 2000 I have been asked if the ARSystem Cross Reference Blank Password settings queries the Active Directory anonymously or with the user's credentials? My thinking is that it will use what ever I have the services to 'run as'. Am I right? Thanks, John J.
