Marcus, You set the ports through the admin tool which adds the information to the config files (yes you can add them directly to the config files). The server will then use the defined ports. When the desktop client is started, it makes a UDP call (port 111) to port mapper which will return the defined TCP port to use to communicate with the server. If you add the port in the desktop client, the UDP call is eliminated. Dave
