Re: Pointing existing AR Server to another Oracle DB InstanceThanks for the
suggestion Dave.

BTW, Which config file are you referring to where the TWO_TASK setting that
needs to be changed?

You could set up two config files with the alternating TWO_TASK settings.
Then schedule a job that would copy the appropriate file over the config file.
The job would also need to cycle the server to read the new config.

Subject: Pointing existing AR Server to another Oracle DB Instance

  **
  Dear Listers,

I have a situation where I have an existing AR Server instance running on
W2K3 SP2 and a need to point this server alternatively to two DB instances on
Oracle 10gR2 in a Linux cluster.

Anyone know how to change the TWO_TASK setting on an ongoing basis
alternating between two instances?
Is this approach even recommended or should I opt for another mechanism?

  Thanks in advance,
