  That would depend on your operating system.  On Windows it's ar.cfg.  I think 
on Solaris it was ar.conf.

          You could set up two config files with the alternating TWO_TASK 
settings.  Then schedule a job that would copy the appropriate file over the 
config file.  The job would also need to cycle the server to read the new 
config.

          I have a situation where I have an existing AR Server instance 
running on W2K3 SP2 and a need to point this server alternatively to two DB 
instances on Oracle 10gR2 in a Linux cluster.
         
          Anyone know how to change the TWO_TASK setting on an ongoing basis 
alternating between two instances?
          Is this approach even recommended or should I opt for another 
mechanism?
