For what its worth, I had this same situation (using Remedy Help Desk 6.03 
patch 20) last year after having simply increased length of Solution 
Details field.  We then get errors when attempting to save Cases about 
value not falling within limits specified for a particular field (which is 
also, I guess, a way you can see which fields are related!).

The fields we had to change to all be same length (3000) were 

On HPD:HelpDesk form :
zTmpSolDescription
Solution Description (?Details?)

On HPD:Solutions form :
SolutionDescription (?Description?)

Hello Listers,
 
    I am running ARS 6.03 Patch 21 and I need to increase the number of 
characters in the Description field.  My question is, what is typical, 
(ours is currently set to 300)  and I have been ask to increase it.  I'm 
concerned about just bumping the size and how it will effect the DB.  I 
just want to avoid the gotchas.
