Again, you should verify that the mime-type that is sent is the correct one. One option would be to install the firebug extension to see what is being sent to the browser. If the mime-type is incorrect (for example text/plain), Firefox will just open it as text, like most other browsers. "IE works" because it sees ".pdf" and knows how top open pdf on your PC, no matter what mime-type your web browser is sending.
