Hello Aaron, Two things come to my mind. First, can you check the health of the server, whether is it running on full CPU and memory utilization. If your answer is yes then try to reduce the load on the server.
Secondly, can you check a continuous ping to the server? I hope that if the first one is NO, then a continuous ping might help.
