on a fairly clean test system.

Not the world's most useful error message, is it? Note that its just a
warning, and the operation may have succeeded. testing now...
- settiing a new password ,OK.
- setting a blank password, i get the message. then when i go to the
home page, it says "No applications or entry points" !?
- log in again to recover, try a few more tests...
EUREKA! - in my tests it happens if and only if the password is changed
to be empty.
Is it like that for you? Are you trying to encrypt an empty string?
BTW, text in the form says that the password may not be empty. But thats
not true, and would be silly.
Maybe the programmer believed it, but didn't check?

This only occurs in the midtier and not the user tools. I have also
tried various browsers, verified administrator midtier passwords,
etc. I have noticed a message in the mid-tier logging:
Dec 7, 2007 9:19:56 AM - SEVERE (com.remedy.log.SESSION) : Login:
Failed to query PW change.
AR 7.1 Windows Server 2003
Remote SQL Server 2000 DB
Mid-tier 7.1, IIS 6, Tomcat 5.5, JDK/JRE 1.6.0_03
Any thoughts? Still awaiting to hear back from Remedy Support
