The ability to display the contents of a Direct SQL in a table field.. That has been my wish now for almost forever as long as table fields were introduced..
I know I know for a limited number of cases you do not 'require' this feature by working around the limitation and creating external database views of the required SQL results, but in many cases this is indeed a limitation.. What if my SQL statement needed required to be dynamic? I may dynamically be able to create a database view, but cannot dynamically create a View form to map that table field to... Talking about 'dynamically creating view forms', wouldn't that be a nice to have feature too?? Lets say while creating a view form, instead of having to hardcode the table or view name, use a variable (field ID maybe?) instead of a hard coded view or table name. A field to hold this variable value could then be created on the form where that variable is used by way of this table field that reports from dynamic views pointing to that dynamic view form that was created.. This is just a fuzzy thought I have on this possibility, I wonder how much it would take to make it into a reality... Ok I know that's 2 wishes but I've been a pretty good boy this year so.... :-) or maybe have both of them bundled in the same wrapper (read version)! Who's gonna be our Santa on these wishes.. :-) Here's wishing each and everyone of you on this list a Merry Christmas...
