I know that it can be done (at least on Solaris/Sybase), but to do it right, you need to have a DBA who is willing to be a part of the Remedy team. (S)he will need to understand Remedy architecture enough to know what to use and what to leave alone, and have a significant time commitment to invest into the constant changes that are part of most Remedy environments.
