I did not see what ARS version you are using... but... In versions >=7.0 then there is a way to do this. It is not as trivial as a single action in an active link, but _it is possible_ if you have to have the UI feature.
Do some reading on a Data Visualization Field (DVF). They allow you to write any UI that can be done with a web client and communicate back and forth between the web client and the ARS form. They are not trivial to do, but it is possible if you really need that color for your buisness to work properly.
