Hi Rick, I only have time for a quick reply right now, but yes since we upgraded from 5.1.2 to 7.0.1P3 last June there have been issues.
We couldn't use the old user tool without causing thread storms but once they were upgraded that went away. Eight weeks of hell since 3-4 were spent isolating the actual problem. Then on some users they couldn't run reports (created Crystal 9, using active links, dialog form and macro). Did an upgrade on some of them to Crystal 11 and for a few more people they did work. Then gradually the new reports wouldn't work. It appeared to point to odbc and I still believe that is a component. After a zillion hours working with Support (bmc and TuringSMI) and being able to recreate the problem etc so close to being a bug I could taste the bug's wings. But then they decided that you CANNOT use macros anymore. Have to do the crystal report via an open window configuration for reports. It worked on the one I tried it on that was the #1 annoying that I can't run it report. Now I only have a few hundred left to go. I don't actually know that it will work on more of them until I do the conversion but with my luck I will have to do all that work. Also, odbc configuration is a big thing. We've found instances where it kind of disappears but it could be related to the old active link workflow. We also were clearing the Common Files for Crystal which helped sometimes but wasn't long term. Also cache clearing. Good luck ...
