The User Tool installation _should_ have created the ODBC DSN with minimal configuration on each Windows desktop. Then if you create AR System User Preference records for all of your users (we create them with a custom filter) you can set the report server name AND PORT, and ODBC Use Underscores = Yes in the preference record. IF your server enforces preferences (ours does) - Preference Server Options: use This Server - then everyone who logs in to the User Tool picks up the preferences from the server and their reporting works properly without manually editing the DSN. They can change their preferences later and break them (several of our accounts lost theirs during multi-server testing), but at least they will get started with the correct settings.

After this person has been set up with the ODBC connection, they never need to configure this again and it works fine from this point on. However, we have between 500-700 users and there must be a better way than each person having to login via the ODBC connection and configure a User DSN.
