He's definitely right. Unfortunately, I've been told by Sun multiple times that binaries/applications compiled for Solaris SPARC are not compatible with Solaris x86. Moving AR System to Solaris x86 would therefore be a "port" and not just a testing/certification effort. At this time, there are no plans to move AR System to Solaris x86. There is an open discussion about perhaps considering porting to Solaris x64 in a far future release, but at this time the market demand is not high enough to have it officially on the roadmap. -David J.
