Hi Frank, I've done this many times (but with Oracle). You need a binary file called arupsyb. It's located in arsystem/solaris/arsystem.tar To upgrade the database structure you need to run 2 commands . /<your ars7.1 dir>/bin/arsystem this will set all the necessary env-vars. arupsyb -c $ARCONFIGDIR/ar.conf -d this will do the database upgrade. Now you should be able to start your 7.1 AR-Server. The only problem is, that you must manually import some def-Files that would normaly be imported by the install script. Kind Regards Conny

Our upgrade will be done by taking a copy of the existing production database and copying it to a new database host. We will then need to upgrade that database to 7.1. We have two new hosts that already have 7.1 installed with all of the config files set correctly. Is there a way to run the server install script so that all it does is upgrade the existing database but does not touch the currently installed files? __Platinum Sponsor: www.rmsportal.com ARSlist: "Where the Answers Are" html___ _______________________________________________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org Platinum Sponsor: www.rmsportal.com ARSlist: "Where the Answers Are"
