If you are on a Unix Box you can do >arrecond.log After that the logfile should be empty. If you move or rename the file then you only change a entry in a mapping table (filename -> inode). Once a file is opened the filename has no meaning at all. You can even delete the file and the process will continue writing to the file.

The RE continuted to write to the file.
