I am trying to connect an AR System server to a second LDAP directory service using the instructions provided in the knowledge base article *KM-000000012275*. The first directory service works fine. The second instance of arplugin.exe runs on the server and is listening at the designated plug-in port. The arplugin log file shows the correct ARDBC-LDAP parameters. When I try to create a vendor file, the second vendor name, ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP2, does not appear in the list of available vendor names.**

Suggestions for diagnosing this are welcome.

AR Server version: 7.1.00 Patch 002 200802011900
Host OS: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2

Configuration steps followed:
1. Created new folder and files for plugin.
a. Created folder for plugin - "C:\Program Files\AR System\<server>\Plugin2".
   b. Created CONF folder within Plugin2 folder.
   c. Created text file ar.cfg in new CONF folder.
   d. Copied arplugin.exe into new Plugin2 folder.
e. Copied AR client DLL files to the Plugin2 folder: arapi71.dll, arcatalog_eng.dll, ardbcldap.dll, arencrypt71.dll, arrpc71.dll, arsrv71.dll, arutl71.dll, icudt32.dll, icuinbmc32.dll, icuucbmc32.dll f. Copied non-AR dlls to Plugin2 folder: nsldap32v50.dll, nsldappr32.v50.dll, nsldapssl32v50.dll, nspr4.dll, nss3.dll, plc4.dll, plds4.dll
2. Edited new ar.cfg, adding:

   Plugin-Port: 37102
   Plugin: ardbcldap.dll

   Server-Name: <servername>
   Plugin-Loopback-RPC-Socket: 390626
   Register-With-Portmapper: T
   Remedy-App-Service-Password: <passwordhash>

   Debug-mode: 131072
   Plugin-Log-Level: 100
   Plugin-Log-File: C:\Program Files\AR
   System\<server>\Arserver\Db\arplugin2.log

   ARDBC-LDAP-Password: <passwordhash>
   ARDBC-LDAP-Base-Dn: <baseDN>
   ARDBC-LDAP-Use-Cache: F
   ARDBC-LDAP-Cache-MaxSize:
   ARDBC-LDAP-Cache-TTL:
   ARDBC-LDAP-Cert-DB: c:\ldap
   ARDBC-LDAP-User-DN: <userDN>
   ARDBC-LDAP-Connect-Timeout: 600
   ARDBC-LDAP-Hostname: <hostname>
   ARDBC-LDAP-Page-Size: 1000
   ARDBC-LDAP-Port: 636
   ARDBC-LDAP-UsingSSL: T
   ARDBC-LDAP-Time-Format: 0

3. Edited the original ar.cfg, adding:

   Plugin-Port: 37010
   Server-Plugin-Alias: ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP2 ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP localhost:37012

4. Edited armonitor.cfg, adding:

   "C:\Program Files\AR System\<server>\arplugin.exe" -i "C:\Program
   Files\AR System\<server>\Plugin2" -m

5. Tested.
   a. Restarted AR System server service.
b. Checked Task Manager and verified two instances of arplugin.exe are running. c. Tried to create a new ARDBC LDAP vendor form for vendor ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP2. The LDAP2 vendor does not appear in the list of available vendors.
