Just talked to BMC and this is fixed in 7.5, which is good, but not when you are still on 7.0 (BOO HOO!)

I'm hoping that BMC might have fixed this (by running a different SQL query) in 7.1 or 7.5? There was some of them that were rejected because of "ORA-01704: string literal too long" though and I was wondering if there is anything that I can change to let these go through. Our "Details" field allows 10,000 characters, and I was able to create this ticket manually. The "details" field on the email is about 5,000 character but when it comes through email, we get the error message. I did some research and it said something about clobs and the fact that SQL can't handle more than 4,000 characters. I cut the details down to 3,500 characters and it went through. Anyway to increase this? Error message is: Failure during SQL operation to the database ORA-01704: string literal too long ARS 7 patch 5 Windows 2003 Server Oracle 10i Email Exchange 2007 (I believe) Lisa Kemes AR System Developer Tyco Electronics 717-810-2408 tel 717-810-2124 fax [email protected] __Platinum Sponsor: RMI Solutions ARSlist: "Where the Answers Are" html___ __Platinum Sponsor: RMI Solutions ARSlist: "Where the Answers Are" html___ _______________________________________________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org Platinum Sponsor: RMI Solutions ARSlist: "Where the Answers Are"
