Pat,
I was of the same understanding as you, until just now. After re-reading
the FD patch 2 document, I don't think its referring to the CMDB.
"By deploying patch 1.6.00.02, you are not able to upgrade to BMC
Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping (BMC Atrium Discovery) 7.5.00
or 7.5.01. Future releases of BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency
Mapping may support an upgrade from patch 1.6.00.02."
Initially, like you, I understood that to say that we couldn't upgrade the
CMDB until 7.5 p2 came out. But what it actually says, is that you can't
upgrade from 1.6 patch 2 to the 7.5 version of the discovery tools (Atrium
Discovery & Dependency Mapping - ADDM) until patch 2 for that comes out.
It doesn't put any limitations on the CMDB version.
I think having the name "Atrium" in there is what tripped us up.

Why is it then that the FD 1.6.002 Patch that just came out only works with
7.5 !
because they are no longer patching FD in version 7.1 !
What is the deal here !
