I saw some previous posts on the ARSList and other places that had this error
pop up on the Assignment Engine like you are encountering.

In my case, since this was in development, we just restored from the last
backup and redid the work and now all is functioning ok.

Hi Shawn,

I just reread your original post. I didn't catch that it was user activity in
Asset Management that was triggering this. Looks like two different issues.

I haven't used AM for a while but that does sound familiar with AM 6 and
opening a CI form (i.e. Computer System). I forget the specifics but I could
repeat it opening the form one way and avoid it opening the form other.

Good afternoon everyone,

We randomly started getting a message on Asset Management today citing an error
any time you try to open the Asset Management Console or any form dealing with
assets. The error is:

ARERR [102] Name parameter (or name field in a parameter) is empty

I've seen instances of others getting that error but no explanation that made
much sense to me. What steps should we take to investigate what the cause is
and how to fix it? I'm not finding this error showing up in the arerror.log,
the arapi.log, arfilter.log, or on my client in the active link log.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Shawn Pierson
