Your license file will be automatically converted to the new licensing model in AR System 7.1.00 when you do your upgrade. You do not need to purge your license keys unless - as mentioned - you are changing hardware or NIC. Perhaps your sister company is moving to new servers as part of the upgrade, which is why they are purging...
