According to the documentation you can use any form as long as one holds the assignee. The documentation suggests using the User form. It also states you need any form that holds a request and gives the Help Desk form as an example. these are both pre ITSM forms which leaves me to believe it should work with help desk 5.6. nothing in the documentation for assignment engine 7.1 talks about any of the ITSM forms.
