Sync Search has a bug. I ran into it with 7.0.1 a few months back & asked my
support rep. They told me the bug's been there since 6.3. Sync Search has been
broken since 6.3, BMC knows about it, and it's fixed in 7.5.

That usually means that there is a problem in Admin tool installation. You
might try uninstalling the Admin tool and re-installing it.

Subject: Synch Search error, 6.3

Hello everyone, after I click the"Update Search Database" button on
the Synch Search Database window, I get an aradmin.exe Application
Error, The instruction at 0x7c90100b referenced memory at 0x...... The
memory could not be read. I ran synch search from the command line and
basically the same thing happened. I've deleted the three forms and
set up the synch search database again. What does this error point to?
