Resolved. There was a DC down, it came back up and email flowed through like a charm.

It is not unusual for it to hang (usually java issues), however it is unusual for a restart of the service to not clear it up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I cannot figure out which file it is missing. It would be nice if the event log would tell me. I've looked through all of my email logs and nothing is listed.
