Web services are not required for the Atrium Console to work; but you do need a
mid-tier, as many things in the Atrium Console use new the Flex technology,
which is serviced by the mid-tier...

The ar.cfg does not reference port 9999 at all. Are web services required for
the Atrium Console or other core functionality to work?

Hi Rick,

Try changing the Java port in the various places you find it in the ar.cfg
file then restarting Remedy. Don't pick 9998 as it will give the same
error; choose one well away from 9999.

It seems the Atrium Web Services will uses these ports regardless.

BMC recommends not installing Atrium Web Services on the same box as ARS
for performance reasons.

Cheers

Peter
