Fons, sorry, but my "hack" has been proved to work on unix. I've never done this on a windows box with MSSQL. The installer for unix-systems is a "simple" shell script where one can see what's going on behind the scenes. The installer for windows is more like a black box. Furthermore the database migration from nonUnicode to Unicode is a bit more complicated on MSSQL, because you have to alter all the (var)char and text columns to their respective n-types.
