Unless you are on 7.5 where you can disable the Status History on a form
property.

In version 7.5, the AR System doesn't care if the status history table is not
populated. BMC is probably working in the direction to depricate that option
which frankly in my opinion does not serve much value.. It doesn't really offer
a true audit of the status history. It is just a overhead on the AR System
database.

Depends on the update. If you speaking of just changing a field other that
status then that should be ok. Otherwise you will have to update the H tables
too

Kind regards

Speaking of databases, does anyone know if it's safe to run update queries on
remedy database externally with a vb app? Any possible side effects from not
using remedy C or java api to do this?

Thanks
