Topic

Fast and robust data transfer between forms and servers

Abstract

There are many situations where the Remedy Admin needs to move, copy or
synchronize data between forms or

servers. The versatile, robust and free utility RRR|License can help you
perform these tasks, and much more.

During this session, we show you how to configure RRR|Chive and do live
demonstrations on both basic and

advanced requirements.

Synopsis

- Copy data between two forms on the same server

- Move data to an archive form

- Synchronize all form data from server A to server B, while minimizing the
down-time

- Change the entry-id-prefix and field-size on a form

- Merge data from two live servers into one server

Topic

ITSM 6 to ITSM 7.6 Live Data Migration using Meta-Update

Abstract

Data Imports typically require a staging form and merge workflow. These can
take from a week to a large scale

project to develop.

With Meta-Update efforts are reduced to a fraction and require no staging
forms, no workflow, no ARS changes at

all!

Meta-Update can handle CSVs that even Excel or the import tool cannot read.
Each line of the CSV can result in a

different set of records being updated to a different set of tables.
Validations can be automated with failed records

creating a new, identical, CSV.

Synopsis

Covered in this topic will be:

. The automation options available for achieving imports into ARS or ITSM.

. Live demo of as sample import into ITSM.

. Discussion of Meta-Update scripting and how the import was achieved.

ITSM 6 to ITSM 7.6 Live Data Migration using Meta-Update

Abstract

Many companies are finding that the costs of migrating pre ITSM 7 data into
a new ITSM 7.6 environment are

exorbitant and choose to either not migrate that data or suffer a bad or
botched migration.

These results are detrimental to businesses: two different systems are left
running until all tickets are closed; assets

are not automatically imported; no ticket history is available on the new
system.

Using Meta-Update, all open and historical tickets and changes will be
available on the new system as well as

assets, relationships, and associations from tickets to assets.

A live transfer of Assets (pre CMDB), Tickets, and Changes will take place.

Synopsis

Covered in this topic will be:

. The challenges of a pre-7 ITSM data migration into ITSM 7.6.

. The automation options available for achieving this.

. Mapping sessions with selected trees.

. Automating data cleaning.

. Handling attachments and diary fields.

. A live demo of an ITSM 6 to 7.6 data migration.
