Yes, installing the most recent available version (patch 7) of any 7.02 / 7.03
ITSM app on a system with the other apps already installed and patched beyond 7
will clobber the existing apps. This was very well documented in the Patch 008
and Patch 009 Release Notes, and is why we refused to install Asset on our
existing Patch 009 system with IM, PM, CM, SLM, and RKM when we finally
acquired Asset as part of the Suite licensing. We will not install Asset until
we migrate to 7.6.x.

We were already sensitized to this by what happened when we installed Patch 007
to the apps we do have, after most of our customization had been done on Patch
006; it clobbered them too. I was able to migrate everything and retain the
customizations because we patched dev, migrated from prod to dev, then patched
prod, and migrated back from dev. Note that most customizations for ITSM
7.02/.03 are simply not going to work in 7.6.00.x, and I suspect that to be
even worse in 7.6.03 (but I haven't gotten past the *%$#^& Atrium Core upgrade
to find out), due to fundamental changes in the HPD and CHG ticketing table
structures.

Subject: Change 7.3 patch???

**
Dear all,

We are faced with a little dilemma.

We have ITSM 7.3 (Helpdesk, Problem, Asset) all with patch 8.0

We have installed Change Management 7.3 and planning to bring it to the same
patch level as the rest the ITSM modules.

We can install CM patch 7.0 or Patch 9.0!!

CM patch 7.0 will first put the rest of ITSM modules at patch 7.0 and then we
can apply patch 9.0 to all modules after that.

Patch 9.0 will be needed since we are thinking about upgrading to 7.5 later
this year. So patch 9.0 I guess is a must for 7.5.

After applying patch 7.0 (today) and to my surprise the whole application looks
as if it were out of the box. Hardly a single field, form or workflow shows
any of the customization we did. Luckily we took a copy of the database and
back up all the binaries etc...

So what to do next? Leave change unpatched will not make sense.

Try to patch it to a patch less than 7.0 and a patch that would not overwrites
the customization could be an option but as it states in the release notes of
ARS 7.5, ITSM should be at patch 9.0 at least.

Keep patch 7.0, apply patch 9.0 and then import all the customization?

Any thought on this?

Many thanks in advance,

frex.
