Christopher,
We have a similar situation with dialog on top of dialog...the second dialog
sometimes opens behind the first...to 'fix' this I personally Alt-Tab to
another window and then back and it displays properly...but I have not found
a fix for it....I have not noted the same behavior in the Web client though
(which is what my customer base uses) so I haven't worried too much about
the issue.

Subject: Client Tool Strange Behavior - Anyone see this before

Hey Fellow Listers,

Environment info:
Remedy 7.1 Patch 9
Client 7.1 Patch 9
DB Oracle 10g
OS SUN 5.9
Desktops Windows XP SP3

We are experiencing Error popup messages that appear to go behind a current
Open Dialog box, when the user trying to save their data and there is some
kind of business rule violation on some data element in the Dialog box.

Here is what happens. We have a list of records that a user works with
listed in a table. They click to open one of those records and it opens a
Dialog box and displays the data for them to edit. They click on a button on
that first Dialog box and that opens yet another Dialog box in front of the
first Dialog box where the user enters specific information related to the
first dialog box and saves it by clicking on a save button. It passes that
data from the second Dialog box to a table on the DB. If the user make a
invalid update or addition and they try to save this second dialog box an
Error popup message is displayed providing the error code and error message
along with a continue button which takes them back to the second Dialog box
and sets the focus to the offending field.

However, when this occurs the Error popup message appears behind the second
Dialog box. Now here is the funny part, it does not happen all the time and
when it does happen if you just sit and wait the Error popup message will
reappear in front of the second dialog box as it should have in the first
place. Some times it dispalys in a few seconds, some times it takes a very
long time and then other times on the second Dialog box the error message
popup up just like it should always do without delay or hiding itself.

Like I said very strange behaviour and was wondering if anyone has every
experienced that before and if so how did you get it resovled.
