** Sam, The experience of RUG is kind of hard to explain. It sort of has the feeling of going to a family or even high school reunion. Part of the experience of RUG is renewing friendships. It's sitting down (bar, table, floor, what ever is available) with some one you just meet and comparing notes about your system and how you approach something. Even those of us that have been doing this for years can learn from the newbies.
In the mornings, Lenny and a crew of people will be running tutorials. These are basically mini classes. The afternoons are technical sessions. The level of the technical sessions can vary. This year we are seeing a number of What's New in 7.6 put on by BMC/Remedy folks. You can't over look Wednesday night which is Evening with Engineering that Doug has been hosting for years. Wednesday night gives you the opportunity to talk with the BMC/Remedy backline folks and product managers directly. A great place to ask questions. Doug always challenges us to keep his folks there and busy until Midnight. If we haven't then we haven't done our jobs. Come out to Vegas and look me up. I won't be too hard to find. I'll buy you a beer or glass of wine. I'd like to come to it, my company is willing to send me, but I have a concern that the sessions are going to be so far over my head that little of it will make much sense (read, I'm very inexperienced with Remedy, etc.) As an example, I posted a question on this list about being able to display certain items in the Atrium Core Console... the one reply I got ended with the line "I have a question - how much experience do you have with CMDB?", leading me to feel even more out of place on this list. (I subscribed to it in hopes of learning more about Remedy, Atrium, ITSM, etc. I have to admit that most of the questions posted here are beyond my understanding.) I appreciated the gentlemen who tried to help me, and I don't think he meant anything negative in what he asked. But it did give me cause to worry about spending so much money on the WWRUG given my lack of knowledge of the product. I guess what I'm asking is, will there be some of WWRUG geared to those with not a lot of experience with the various products?
