Matt, Chris, Rick,
Thanks for your responses. One issue was answered by a private email to me from Christopher Strauss. To wit: ". so I could not run the preconfigured stack installer which requires a domain account for the Remedy service. " So, I gave the machine an extra Ethernet card with a static address, installed a DNS server ignoring that not all cards had static addresses, and installed a domain controller. Then the pre-configured installer got further but ARS refused to start. I have not had the time to see why yet. I am not sure that I have any 2003 x64 server licenses around anymore. This is his recommendation as he says "he gave up on Windows 2008 R2." Before I do give up though, I will try again on R2 with Oracle and run through each install. But this will have to wait until after the RUG. I look forward to seeing all of you soon in person. Cheers Ben Ben Chernys Senior Software Architect Software Tool House Inc. Again, brand new installation. Nothing in the Remedy KB system referencing the error. How are we supposed to install this product? These are all new installs to a new machine with the OS and the DB installed. I did not have the loop-back adapter but that only causes problems with the Oracle management app. (I will reinstall that later). There are no environment vars set that I would think would interfere w/ ARS. If anyone has any clue what the problem and work-around may be, I would certainly appreciate it.
