HI Peter, I would not recommend disabling the workflow, it is there specifically to guard you. Merging of companies is more complicated than just the company name. All dependant data will be updated as well and may result in collisions (e.g. approval, auto-assignment, etc). This is not a supported use case and any resulting issues may not be recoverable.

However, you cannot change a Company name to a name that already exists. So, if you want to merge two companies because, for instance, a company was created twice by mistake with names spelt differently, then it's not possible via the wizard. Has anyone disabled the workflow that prevents this? I asked BMC Support and they haven't tested disabling this workflow so they don't recommend it in case it breaks both companies.
