Client 7.5.04 is the most stable. We just pushed it to our user community (combo of xp and Win 7) and so far no issues. 7.6.04 kept crashing on us during our testing prior of packaging the tool.
I have 7.5.04 run in XP compatibility mode. Another user is running Windows XP Pro 2003, SP3. Same thing - the client terminates on a regular basis. I am running Windows 7, 64 bits (java is also 64 bits). My client stable - sadly that is not the feedback from our user base. It is not recommended with a different server / client version. I am well aware of that.
