While I agree with the creation of the view idea, if you do not still want to do that, check on the permissions..
The AR System runs with its own DB user which is aradmin if left at default.. Make sure that you permit the DB user that owns the AR System database to select permissions to that DB Link you have created.. Update permissions would be needed to update that table... This way the ARS system doesn’t have to deal with the fact that it is remote (which is a plus when you have a Dev/Test/Prod environment setup and you need to move your code between environments). (SQL Server 208) We are able to query the Linked Server from SQL Studio. I am able to create a view on the SQL server that looks at the Linked Server and create the View Form using that view, but when I run a selection from the View Form, it takes 50+ seconds. Can anyone provide the syntax that should be put in as the table we want to be pointing to? Again, the documentation is not very clear. Thank you in advance.
