As we are not talking about Clients and midtier, I do see the following notes related to this also in the same white paper. Load balancing between the clients and web servers without setting a sticky bit. If the web servers in your AR System were installed in a cluster (with fail-over enabled), then setting the sticky bit on the load balancer between the clients and web servers is not needed. Do they meant software cluster at web server level, not a hardware cluster.
