Description:

Run Book Automation (RBA) is the ability to define, build, orchestrate,
manage and report on workflows that support system and network
operational processes to improve and enhance operational IT efficiency.
A run book process can cross all management disciplines and interact
with all types of infrastructure elements, such as applications,
databases and hardware.

Responsibilities may include:

The Run Book Automation Analyst may be responsible for:

*       Provide day to day support functions for the Run Book Automation
environment. This will include setup, creating, debugging and reporting
of workflows on a daily basis. 
*       Setup will include the installation, configuration and testing
of the Run Book Automation environment and its integration packs within
the certification lab and production environments. Determine when growth
of environment is required to maintain required performance levels. 
*       Work with groups to turn their documented process and procedures
into automated workflows. 
*       Daily reporting and monitoring of the workflows within the Run
Book Automation environment, developing reports that will be used to
keep management and analyst informed of all workflow automations present
within the environment. 
*       Work with the Run Book Automation vendor (Currently Microsoft) 
*       Work with groups in support of the integration agents with other
devices and applications.
*       Support/enhance Service Desk .net web sites and batch jobs

Qualifications

Basic/Required:

*       Legally authorized to work in the United States
*       Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related
Information Technology Field
*       Application development experience

Preferred:

*       3+ years direct experience with Information Technology
infrastructure and application knowledge/experience
*       Knowledge of databases (Microsoft SQL, Oracle)
*       Knowledge of scripting or programming languages. (C#,
PowerShell, etc...) 
*       A basic understanding of Active Directory
*       A basic understanding of Password Vault 
*       A basic understanding of networking topologies (SNMP, DNS)
*       A basic understanding of Web Services (consume and publish)
*       Knowledge of Web Development 
*       A basic understanding of UNIX environments, i.e. TELNET, SSH,
FTP, CRON 
*       Knowledge of Remedy systems
*       Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 
*       Experience with Microsoft Opalis 
*       Good verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated
ability to influence. 
*       Self-motivated with a strong customer orientation. 
*       Goal and deadline driven

There is no cost, and the ARSlist is a good spot to start.

 

That being said, in general it is best to include more information,

e.g. location, Duration/type of opportunity (full time, contract,
W2/1099 I think is what the US says),

any limitations (e.g. security clearance or US Citizenship, it is
usually the US that has these limitations to protect US jobs).
