To clarify... Are you creating an integration or a one-time (or maybe few-time) load?
If just a load then I would do as Mahesh suggested and use the Data Management Tool. You probably could get away with importing directly into the Help Desk form but why not use the DMT? If there is a validation issue the record still imports and notes what the error is. You can fix the record right in the form (Modify All anybody?) and then rerun the validate process. If it is an integration then go with the recommendation of using the interface form.
