Jason,
I think with FTE, it really has a lot of factors that play into it. I'm
sure there are others but right off the bat, I can think of location, size
of the company, size of the environment, and size of the team.
So with that said, I think for the NY metro area, for a company with 6-10k
employees, 3-4 environments, and 2 developers with 1 sr. guy would be:
90-100k with benefits for the 2 devs.
110-140 for the senior or architect.
Just my opinion considering economy as well.
I always hope it's more than that though. When I was an FTE, I was getting
a salary that was waaaay lower than the dev rate I mentioned. This was
because you fall into a pay scale determined by HR when you first join. The
longer you stay as an FTE, the less you make compared to market.
