Thanks Mike for these pointers. It looks like the certs are all in place. I am still debugging and looking at the MT Tomcat and SSO Tomcat logs.
The only thing right now that happens is an attempt to redirect to the MT login via the URL https://<FQDN SSO Server>/atriumsso/UI/Login?realm=BmcRealm&goto=http://<Midtier_URL>.
