Bryan Microsoft IIS offers no benefit in most deployments of Mid Tier. Your deployment would be far less complex without it, using Tomcat directly, which is all IIS Is doing. The mod_jk connector is now a decade old and has been (sort of) deprecated by other modules (mod_proxy_ajp) for the Apache web server.
