We chose to use the 'Affiliation' field on CTM:People which led to us having to modify a couple of forms, including CTM:People, HPD:IncidentInterface_Create, HPD:IncidentInterface to include our custom affiliations e.g. Student, Employee, Alumni etc..
It was necessary to generate good reports on the types of calls we were getting and also ensure that our custom apps could generate tickets with the appropriate affiliations.
