I see your point - the whole idea of using that button on the thick client is minimizing the number of clicks and adding a menu item would not really do that unless off course you create an actual box type button behind that function. But that would stick out like a sore thumb in case you have not created save modify and search buttons as well to accompany that new Save and Next button.

You could however 'build' something similar with a table walk by building a result list field. The button could be out on the form menu. I had personally to be honest, never noticed its absence on the middle tier, until you pointed it out. Maybe it would qualify for a RFE if there is a good business case for it - that is if a lot of users like that feature from the user client and if they would like to see it ported over to the middle tier.
