We are looking at moving to ITSM 8.1 using the new "hub-and-spoke" architecture and we are getting conflicting information from BMC Professional Services. Can anyone verify that, in the architecture and version indicated above, that Company names must be unique to a spoke, if the company type is "Operating Company" or "Customer".
Put another way, can I have a customer company "ABC Corp" that exists in two different spokes? (I realize that it will exist in both one spoke and the hub, as the hub contains the set of all companies defined in all spokes, plus those of the type "Service Provider".) Any references would also be appreciated. The answer to this will heavily influence our foundation data model. Thanks in advance.
