For the first time in 15 years I have been out of work for a good 6 months. I regularly update LinkedIn, Indeed, Monster, and Dice. Plus I have reached out to my friends here on the list. I think I have had about 5 real interviews in that time. I don't know what is going on but it's like all of the sudden nobody wants consultants anymore, and if they do they want you to travel for $65.00 all inclusive which is not very realistic.
I would be VERY interested if anyone has any ideas as to what is going on and what I might be missing to adapt to a new environment. It seems that it's less 'Monster' these days, than having your resume ON Monster (and recently updated)....I have noticed that any time I update my resume on Monster, I get a flurry of calls for about a week or so. In general I would agree...that it's pretty quiet.
