I wonder if we dove into the weeds a bit too quickly with our replies :) I agree with Charlie it doesn't sounds like a Dev Studio issue but something getting in the way of DS making a connection.
Can you ping the server from the Win 7 machines? Does the AR Server register with portmapper? Do you need to specify a port in your Dev Studio connection settings? Have you double checked the server name in the Dev Studio connection settings? Are there any other AR servers you can try to connect to? It would rule out a Dev Studio issue if you can connect to another AR server. Have you looked for odd entries in the host file? Maybe there is a local alias pointing to the wrong IP address? Have you tried connecting to the AR server with the IP address of the server? This would rule out host file and DNS issues.
